As the state’s fiscal officer, State Controller Betty T. Yee understands many people are facing financial difficulties during these uncertain times, and helping Californians through this crisis remains one of her top priorities. As such, Controller Yee has compiled resources to help individuals, families, and businesses more readily access available state and federal financial assistance programs. On the Controller’s website, you will find information ranging from direct financial relief, to housing aid, to small business assistance, as well as brief summaries of the programs and deadlines to apply. We hope these charts make the various programs easier to navigate, so all communities can apply for assistance they may not have known was available. We invite you to share these resources with the communities and constituencies you serve and help spread the word about these opportunities.
The State Controller’s Office also safeguards lost and forgotten property turned over to the state (e.g., bank accounts, uncashed checks, insurance benefits, wages, stocks, bonds, and safe deposit box contents) until claimed by the rightful owners. Potential owners can search for unclaimed property on the Controller’s database at www.claimit.ca.gov.
Please do not hesitate to contact our office if you have any questions, or would like more information.
Best,
